Skills

Skills represent your ability to interact with the wasteland and its inhabitants. Your ability to craft new gear, salvage resources, sneak up on enemies and surviving the harsh radioactive landscape are all governed by your skill levels.

Basic run thru on each of the skills are found at the links below:

You can learn more about Combat Skills here.

Important notes on skills:

You can see your INDIVIDUAL skill values by clicking on your profile pic in the top right in the game. These will be exactly the same as the values you have leveled up.

Individual skill values

You can see your TEAM skill values in the main interface at the bottom left (as in screenshot here).

Team skill values

Lightning bolt at top is for Speed, then Scout, Recovery, Salvage, Survival and Craft.

Most skills (Survival, Recovery, Speed and Scout) are all AVERAGED for your team. If you are running solo, the numbers at bottom left will be the same as your individual skills. If you have a few bad mercs (like slaves) with low skills, it can hurt your team average. If you have a low skill, you can hire mercs to make up for it.

Salvage and Craft are simply additive. There are rare opportunities to hire mercs (Survivors, Travelers, ASSI Scientists) that will improve your Craft or Salvage skills.

There are items that can help with each of the skills. Some give +5 to a skill (like a Tarp gives +5 Survival), some give +10 (like the Toolbox for Crafting) and +15 for advanced tech tools like a Portable Surgeon for Recovery.

Skill levels are very important. As you get better at skills, you will have Perks made available. These come at 30, 65 and 100 for all skills. The Perks that come available are based on the skill you level up.
