Weapons
"Wasteland" versions of weapons can be earned by completing goals. Wasteland weapons tend to be more durable than their standard counterparts, but they cannot be repaired. Currently, only ranged weapons are available as Wasteland weapons. Only ranged weapons can be modified with a weapon kit. Scroll down for information about modifying weapons.

Modifying Weapons
First, temper your expectations. Modding weapons results in minor improvements to your combat power.
Second, you need a gun. Since Wasteland weapons can't be repaired, modding a Wasteland weapon isn't recommended.
Third, you need a weapon kit. You can get them as a reward for completing goals or you can buy them with real-life cash as an upgrade.
Fourth, select the (unequipped) gun you want to modify from your inventory and then click on Customize. You can adjust Accuracy, Rate of Fire, Stopping Power, and Handling by reallocating up to 10 points across all four parameters. No single parameter can be decreased or increased by more than 5 points. You have to decrease points before you can add points. At the bottom of the customization window, you can see the effects of your changes on combat power at each range. (You'll see different values here if you access the customization window from the profile of your character or any of your character's mercs.) When you are happy with your adjustments, change the name of your weapon if you like (at the top of customization screen). Then click on Upgrade Weapon to save your changes and officially use up your weapon kit.
Once your weapon has been modded, its image will include a light green gear icon.
Notes:
- This process benefits from experimentation. Changing different parameters on different guns will have different effects on your combat power at each range.
- It is reportedly possible to mod a previously modded weaspon.
- There is no guarantee that your combat power and/or teamwork will be significantly improved as a result of modding a weapon. Again, temper your expectations.
See the Combat page for more information.
